Mentions

A PRO feature that continuously scans the internet for mentions of your brand and rolls them up into an AWARENESS-stage dashboard widget. Answers "how much buzz is my launch getting?" and "are people talking about us on HN or Reddit?".

:::info Source coverage rolls out incrementally Reddit, HackerNews, Google News, Stack Exchange, and DEV.to are the most reliably covered sources today. Platform- and OAuth-keyed sources (X, GitHub, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.) depend on each provider's API health and your connected credentials. If a source feels under-represented, check the corresponding provider in Settings → Integrations is connected and healthy. :::

Setting up

CUSTOMER stage → Mentions tab.

  1. Brand name. Exact case-insensitive match (e.g., FunnelFizz).
  2. Inclusion keywords (optional), at least one must also appear; useful for disambiguating common names.
  3. Exclusion keywords (optional), if any appears, the mention is skipped.

Start monitoring kicks off the first scan immediately; subsequent scans run hourly. The scan deduplicates by source-specific external ID so the same post isn't double-counted across overlapping queries.

Dashboard

  • Total mentions in the selected period.
  • Sources breakdown. Mentions per source.
  • Daily trend. Last 7 / 30 / 90 days.
  • Sentiment. Positive / neutral / negative (keyword-classifier; spot-check).
  • Recent mentions feed, 20 most recent with source, excerpt, author, link.

We store excerpts and links, not full source text. Click any mention to open the source.

Constraints

  • One brand per workspace. Multiple products → multiple workspaces.
  • Hourly cadence. Cross-provider rate limits make faster uneconomical.
  • No backfill. Scans start from the moment you enable. HackerNews returns historical results in current searches; most others don't.

Troubleshooting

  • No mentions after 2h, broaden the query (drop exclusion keywords, double-check spelling). The Run scan now button forces a refresh.
  • Too many false positives, add inclusion keywords for required context.
  • Source missing, make sure the corresponding provider OAuth is connected.
