Email drip campaign basics
~15 minutes · Beginner
A "drip" is just a sequence of emails spaced over time. In FunnelFizz it's an Automation with SEND_EMAIL + WAIT steps.
Who this is for
- You've never run a drip campaign before.
- You understand "send email #1, wait 2 days, send email #2" but you're not sure how to wire that up here.
Steps (outline — full version coming)
1. Verify your sending setup
- HOBBY: you can send from
funnelfizz.comby default. - PRO: verify your custom domain (see below).
Custom domain
If you're on PRO and want to send from your own domain (recommended for deliverability):
- See Features → Email → Custom sending domain for the full DNS record walkthrough (DKIM + SPF + DMARC).
2. Write your first email
- Campaigns → New → Drag & drop editor.
- Blocks: Logo → Title → Text → Button → Footer.
- Subject: keep it under 50 chars. First line ≠ subject (that's "preheader" — set it in Settings).
3. Create the automation
- Stage → Automations → New.
- Trigger:
subscription_trial(or whatever fits). - Steps: SEND_EMAIL → WAIT 2 days → SEND_EMAIL → WAIT 3 days → SEND_EMAIL.
4. Activate and test with yourself first
- Activate the automation.
- Sign up for a trial on your own product with a test Stripe customer.
- Watch the emails arrive. Check the campaign dashboard for open/click stats.
5. Measure what matters
- Open rate: decent baseline is 30–40%.
- Click rate on a CTA: 3–8% is typical for SaaS.
- Attribution: did the trial convert to paid after they clicked?
