# Email drip campaign basics

A "drip" is just a sequence of emails spaced over time. In FunnelFizz it's an Automation with SEND\_EMAIL + WAIT steps.

### 1. Verify your sending setup[​](#1-verify-your-sending-setup "Direct link to 1. Verify your sending setup")

* HOBBY: you can send from `funnelfizz.com` by default.
* PRO: verify your [custom domain](#custom-domain) (see below).

### 2. Write your first email[​](#2-write-your-first-email "Direct link to 2. Write your first email")

* Campaigns → New → Drag & drop editor.
* Blocks: Logo → Title → Text → Button → Footer.
* Subject: keep it under 50 chars. First line ≠ subject (that's "preheader" — set it in Settings).

### 3. Create the automation[​](#3-create-the-automation "Direct link to 3. Create the automation")

* Stage → Automations → New.
* Trigger: `subscription_trial` (or whatever fits).
* Steps: SEND\_EMAIL → WAIT 2 days → SEND\_EMAIL → WAIT 3 days → SEND\_EMAIL.

* Activate the automation.
* Sign up for a trial on your own product with a test Stripe customer.
* Watch the emails arrive. Check the campaign dashboard for open/click stats.

* Open rate: decent baseline is 30–40%.
* Click rate on a CTA: 3–8% is typical for SaaS.
* Attribution: did the trial convert to paid after they clicked?
